FAQ

Questions people ask before their first visit

If your question isn't answered here, get in touch directly — there's no such thing as a silly question about your own face.

Getting started

Yes, always. Every new patient has a full consultation covering medical history, goals and suitability before any treatment is agreed. In most cases this happens at the same appointment as treatment, but you're never obliged to proceed on the day, and a cooling-off period can be arranged if you'd like time to decide.

All treatments are available to adults aged 18 and over only.

That's what the consultation is for. Dr Biggart will discuss your concerns, examine the relevant area, and recommend the treatment (or combination, or indeed no treatment) most likely to help — with alternatives and reasoning explained clearly.

Safety & suitability

As with any medical procedure, injectable treatments carry risks, which are explained fully before you consent to treatment. Dr Biggart is a qualified NHS GP (MRCGP) with specific training in aesthetic medicine, treats from insured clinics, and follows a thorough consultation process designed to identify anyone for whom a treatment isn't appropriate.

Not necessarily, and that's by design. Some patients are advised against a particular treatment, or offered an alternative, based on their medical history or the examination — this is treated as a normal, expected outcome of a proper consultation rather than an exception.

You're welcome to book a review appointment to discuss any concerns. Hyaluronic acid dermal filler can also be dissolved if needed. Anti-wrinkle treatment, skin boosters, Profhilo and polynucleotides are not reversible in the same way, which is part of why the consultation process is unhurried.

Appointments & aftercare

Most treatments involve little to no downtime, though mild redness, swelling or bruising at injection points is common and usually settles within a few days. Specific aftercare advice is given verbally and in writing after every treatment.

Appointments can be booked via the contact page or by email. Dr Biggart treats from clinics in Tooting and Colliers Wood, South West London — exact addresses are confirmed when you book.

Please give as much notice as possible if you need to rearrange. A minimum of 48 hours' notice is requested to avoid a cancellation charge; the exact policy is confirmed when you book.
